Across the Spider-Verse is the sequel to Into the Spider-Verse we’re fans were treated to the debut of Miles Morales in the movies, although just animated. Into the Spider-Verse was incredible, from the cast to the Spider-Men characters they brought it. Not to mention the animation was some of the best I’ve seen.
Well, today we got our first look at a villain that is debuting in the sequel, as well as some confirmations on the voice cast.
It’s been revealed that Jason Schwartzman will be the voice of The Spot in Across the Spider-Verse. Spot’s body is covered in interdimensional portals that can send him anywhere he wants to go. He can also make portals appear out of thin air to transport objects and people at will.
My guess is that this is how Miles will travel across the Spider-Verse. The Spot’s design looks really good. It’s a white silhouette with black spots which have a kind of smudge to them. I know nothing of this character so this means I get to do research on the character.
In other news, The Vulture has also been confirmed for Across the Spider-Verse with Jorma Taccone voicing Spider-Man’s foe. I can not wait to see The Vulture’s design in animation.
As well as having The Vulture confirmed, we also have the confirmation of Gwen’s father George Stacy who is being voiced by Shea Whigham.
Across The Spider-Verse is scheduled to release on June 2, 2023, with a fourth movie scheduled to release in 2024.
