What I Liked
1. Mrs Hart has been nothing but unknowingly hilarious throughout the opening scenes of the episode. She even tried to call the police as she was walking the road in front of them was great. I really enjoyed the sense of realism there and the fact that she doesn’t know what’s going on.
2. “They say no one really knows what happened to him. They say he might be dead. Others say he might be a demon… or an agent of Mephisto.” – Jennifer.
3. It’s also interesting to know that Agatha traded her son for the Book of the Damned. I’m happy to throw my 2 pence in the hat and say that Joe is Agatha’s son. It makes sense above all else.
4. The hallucinations begin after they all drink the red wine which is confirmed to be poisonous. At first, their faces become swollen followed by a magnitude of other symptoms. Mrs Hart is the first to hallucinate as she sees Wanda, she’s frightened seemingly seeing her from WandaVision. This trial is already interesting.
5. I didn’t think Agatha was even capable of a heartfelt speech but here we are. She explains to Jennifer she’s always hated her but left her alone due to the work she does. It was nice to see and a good touch before they managed to finalize the potion and cure the poison.
What I Disliked
Nothing to report this week.
Favorite Moment
The rest of the group all have their own hallucinations including Agatha herself which is perhaps the most entertaining part of the episode. A lot of them were eerie and creepy but in a good way. It adds so much to the show when they take these horror-ish aspects and take it away from the feel-good fun parts.
Standout Character
This is a tough one but I’m going to give it to Mrs Hart. She made me laugh throughout until her untimely death after finishing the trial. All of the characters were great and that’s what I love when it comes to reviewing an episode; when it’s difficult to pick a standout but I loved Sharon.
Verdict
The best episode of the series so far. I loved this and I was fully invested the moment they entered the house to begin the first trial. All of the characters were great, the story flowed well and I really did enjoy it.
