Season 7 Episode 12 “With Nathaniel and Sibyl edging ever closer to eliminating S.H.I.E.L.D from the history books, the agents must rely on their strengths to outsmart and outlast the Chronicoms.”
What I Liked?
1. Nathanial delivers Deke and the now forgetful Simmons to Sibyl on board of the Master Chronicom ship up in space. Nathanial starts to lose his grip on Kora while up on the ship as well.
2. May’s powers are slowly expanding, she must have felt so much death, similar to how Peter felt it in his Spider-Sense in Endgame, May felt the many SHIELD deaths when each base got destroyed.
3. Mack and Sousa plan a plan to hold off as many Chronicoms as they can, they decide to use the 6 Chronicom bodies they have already taken out to make a bomb as a last resort. They then decide to blast open the hanger doors to get ready for the team making it back to the plane, however, the missiles they fired at the doors, don’t do much. Funny little scene.
4. May, Coulson, and YoYo find out that Garrett is in the lighthouse base, they set up a trap for him then YoYo puts a device on Garrett which stops him from teleporting. Garrett gets forced into contacting Nathanial to disarm the bombs but Nathanial being as ruthless as he is, tells Garrett “thank you for your service” causing Garrett to once again switch sides.
5. Simmons and Deke eventually get rescued by Daisy but this is playing right into Sibyl’s hands although it quickly turns wrong with the angry Kora going to fight Daisy sooner than needed. Daisy refuses to fight her sister and eventually leaves her on the ship.
6. Garrett teleports Coulson, May, and YoYo to a beacon where they were told to go at a certain point in time, as soon as they teleport in the bar, a young Victoria Hand (season 1) shoots and kills a young John Garrett in the head. Ironic since Victoria Hand’s death was caused by Garrett.
7. SHIELD agents from different parts of time all received a package that had a part of a machine in it. Once Simmons sees it she quickly builds it while getting parts of her memory back, with her wedding ring being the very last part they needed.
What I Disliked?
Nothing to report.
Favorite Moment
After Simmons rebuilds the machine, a portal, very similar to the one we see in Ant-Man and Endgame opens up with a machine jumping through it… Unfortunately, it isn’t Ant-Man but it’s rather Fitz.
Standout Character
Daisy was the standout in the first half of the finale.
The Verdict
The first hour of the 2-hour finale was amazing, even though there wasn’t much action, it did set many things up for an explosive second hour of the finale. Everything about it was perfect.
