A fair amount of news has dropped in the last 24+ hours due to the Star Wars Celebration event. Disney/Star Wars executives have been busy.
AHSOKA is one of the better bits of news for me, I’m so glad this is getting a second season.
I will reference everything through X links, DiscussingFilm, as I move along, so you can see the images.
First up are some major returns. Hayden Christensen will be set to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. Hayden Christensen has now returned to multiple Star Wars projects, including the first season of AHSOKA and Kenobi. I’m not entirely sure in what capacity we’ll see him in but I believe it’ll be similar to the first season in the sense of flashbacks and other means.
Next up is Zeb. He featured very briefly in the first season, and then we didn’t see him again. It was a shame, considering we did get most of the Phoenix team in a better light, but Zeb was barely featured. I’d like him to become more of a series regular in the second season.
We’re looking at 3 out of the 4 main points here, and it’s Admiral Ackbar. According to the X post from DiscussingFilm, he will go head-to-head with Thrawn. Of course, likely a space battle, but it’s still wonderful to see some familiar faces returning.
Finally, perhaps the biggest news of them all is Rory McCann. He will be playing Baylan Skoll, replacing Ray Stevenson, who sadly lost his life in 2023. When I do look at the images, I think Rory looks the part and I hope he does the role justice, for Ray and his family.
