All Marvel Animated Projects Announced at D23 2024

To put it lightly, D23 has been one hell of an event this year. We’ve had major announcements in all things Disney from Pixar to Marvel and now to animations.

Content like Moana 2, Toy Story 5, and other trailers shown behind closed doors for things like Daredevil and The Mandalorian & Grogu. It’s been huge and shows why Disney is still firmly on top regarding TV and movies.

Yesterday, they dedicated some time to the animated side of things with 4 major projects giving new information even though these projects were announced some time ago.

X-Men ’97 – Season 2

We’ve heard footage was shown on the panel for the second season. It was always a given that the X-Men animated show was going to receive a second season simply due to how the first was received. It’s an exciting time for fans who enjoy the animated side of Marvel. This is another fantastic move.

What If…? – Season 3

Season for What If…? will be the last season as it was confirmed at the panel yesterday. This series has been an interesting twist on how stories play out if even a minor detail is changed within the MCU story we know of. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed what they’ve brought to the table so far although I am sad this will be the last season. I’d ideally love to see Star Wars get a similar treatment with this type of show.

Your Friendly Neighbour Spider-Man

Original series name which has now been changed

This animated show finally has a proper name to go with it and even footage was showcased yesterday. The twist with this show is that it’s Norman Osborn who becomes Peter’s mentor instead of Tony or Doc Ock. There was exclusive footage shown at the event but this hasn’t been released to the general public yet. As always, as soon as we get the footage we’ll release it on the site so you can see it too.

Marvel Zombies

This has been a series that’s been highly sought after for a while and people are ready for it. We understand the show will be rated R meaning it’s only for mature audiences. Again, this is another show where exclusive footage was shown to the audience attending the panel but not to the general public. Typically, when trailers get shown at events like this, they’re not far away from being made public – this is a trailer I’m typically looking forward to.

Eyes of Wakanda

Details were given for this and it’s going to be canon within the MCU. One of the things we know is that K’un-Lun will be explored and it has been confirmed Iron Fist will be featured as well. Judging by the details, this show will be a prequel to the Black Panther movies and set before T’Challa. This one sounds like a decent series, especially with Ryan Coogler involved.
