What I Liked
1. I truly liked the opening scene seeing Cassian as a prisoner of the Empire. Essentially they do not care, they force you to go to a random planet or system as a prisoner, and they force you to remove your footwear on the transport ship. They don’t even give you a proper hearing to see if you are innocent or guilty.
2. This is a thing that I’ve always sort of liked from the Empire. Many higher-ranked military people never truly cared about the Rebel, the Rebel Alliance, or what they were doing. They always believed that they were unstoppable and that is how most of the higher-ranked military personnel were killed on the Death Star.
3. I love the fact that Andor explores all classes. We’ve got Cassian who’s pretty much near the bottom of the chain, we’ve got the prisoners who’s life are just hell, we’ve got Syril who’s not in the same category as Mon Mothma but he’s basically in the middle class while Mon Mothma is in the high-class society.
What I Disliked
Again, in this episode, we barely got any action. I know it’s a “thriller-spy” series but at the end of the day it is Star Wars, it’s meant to have action. I know it’s early days in the Rebel Alliance but we need action.
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment would be Luthren visiting Segra Milo. He goes to visit an old friend, Saw Gerrera played by the incredibly talented Forest Whitaker. He makes his return from his final appearance in Rogue One.
Standout Character
I’ll give this to Dedra Meero. She is ruthless in her pursuit of Cassian. I love how straightforward she is, I love how she’s the main voice for the Empire that knows something will happen if it doesn’t get seen too right away.
Verdict
A great episode for insight into how the Empire runs its prisons. How they are controlled, and how the prisoners are kept in line. This episode was great for all things apart from action, once again. The series needs to pick up on action as it tends to go episodes without any then has an episode dedicated to it and then repeats that.
