Avengers: Doomsday Cast Revealed

Out of nowhere today, Marvel went live with an announcement across their social media platforms.

We do know Avengers: Doomsday was due to begin filming in March 2025 so this does put the film on track for a May 1st, 2026 release.

I have created a TL;DR list, which is at the bottom of this article if you’d prefer to scroll straight down.

When I turned on the stream, it showed a chair with the name “Chris Hemsworth” written across it. This stayed like that for over 10 minutes, and in that time, people, including myself, speculated this could be Thor 5 but after this, it was clear that this was the Doomsday cast.

Once the camera shifted, we see Vanessa Kirby’s name across another chair. Kirby will be playing the Invisible Woman in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie set for release on July 25th, 2025. Later on the video, Ben Grimm’s actor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Pedro Pascal (Reed) and Joseph Quinn (Human Torch) were also announced.

Next up on the list is Anthony Mackie, our Captain America, who was to be expected, as we know he will be one of the leaders of the new Avengers group moving forward. Another announcement from Brave New World is Danny Ramirez, who played Joaquín Torres.

I’m writing this article as the announcement progresses, and honestly, the time between the cast members being announced is painful.

Hearing the Wakanda-styled music came on next and we knew immediately who this was. Black Panther herself, Letitia Wright.

After another lengthy wait, the camera pans across, but there’s no seat. Hilariously, though, the camera instead pans down and we instantly knew who this would be as a much smaller chair appears on screen. Paul Rudd is next on the list.

Multiple Thunderbolt’s actors have been confirmed, which does somewhat spoil the movie a bit as we know they survive the events of the film. Sebstain Stan, Florence Pugh, Lews Pullman, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen and Wyatt Russell are all confirmed.

I wasn’t expecting the next one whatsoever. Tenoch Huerta Mejia, the man who played Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. I know Tenoch wasn’t fired from Marvel after the recent sexual assault allegations, but even besides that, I wasn’t expecting him to be a part of Doomsday, so this was a good surprise. Tenoch was brilliant as Namor. We will also see the return of M’Baku as Winston Duke’s name was shown.

Simu Liu is up next. I’m so happy they’ve finally announced him for a project. I feel like he’s one of the characters that had a solid movie, but Marvel has done nothing with his character since. No cameos in any other movies or anything else, so I’m glad to see he’s been announced.

Beast is next up. I wasn’t expecting that. Our first X-Men character on the board. Kelsey Grammer will be reprising his role as Beast, so this was a welcome surprise. Perhaps, though, at this point in the announcements, Loki is set to return as Tom Hiddleston’s name is on the chair. I am unbelievably happy about this one in particular. Another X-Men return is Patrick Stewart reprising his role as well which is interesting.

MAGNETO!!! Ian McKellen has been announced. Holy moly!! Following on from that was some other X-Men reveals with Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, James Marsden as Cyclops and Rebecca Romijn returning as Mystique.

There’s been some incredible announcements so far but Channing Tatum has been announced. This means after his incredible performance in Deadpool & Wolverine, we’ll be seeing Gambit once again in the MCU.

Finally, Robert Downey Jr. walks through and sits down in his seat and tells the camera to shh. All in all, I’m honestly disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve got some fantastic people in here, but some huge stars is missing.

Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Wanda, Hawkeye, Deadpool, Wolverine, Star-Lord, and Hulk were all missing. These are big names. I’m probably missing some but these are some of the MCU’s biggest sellers. I’m trying not to complain because what we got was great, but I can’t help but be disappointed that there’s still some huge stars missing. It also tells me that perhaps the concept images for the film were incorrect, as one of those images depicted Star-Lord and White Vision together. Both of those names were missing.

I am hoping some of these will still be included in the film, and they’re leaving some surprises for the release itself.
