The Book of Boba Fett debuted a new character in the form of Black Krrsantan, a jet black Wookiee who is working for the Twins and it ignited the internet about the look, feel, and design of this new badass Wookiee, but what could it mean for live-action Star Wars going forward?
Firstly, I’ll give you a small run-down on the character. Black Krrsantan was nicknamed “Santy”, “BK”, or “black K” by Doctor Aphra (rumored to be receiving a live-action series). Black Krrsantan was a male Wookiee bounty hunter whose career spanned from during the rule of the Galactic Empire to the era of the New Republic.
He was originally captured from his homeworld of Kashyyyk and trained by the Xonti Brothers as a gladiator. He later would become a fearsome bounty hunter who was regularly hired by Jabba the Hutt and even at one point was hired by Darth Vader himself.
Now, what could this mean for Star Wars?
Well, this could mean that Black Krrsantan is here to stay and by that, I mean to appear in other live-action series that are releasing soon and yet to be announced series.
While it looks like he’s going to be a foe for Boba Fett throughout his series, so far we haven’t had any backstory on him in the series and we could well not receive any but when the character debuted, he had a nasty scar above his eye. Now, a lot of people might not know how he got that scar, and it wasn’t from another Wookiee. Black Krrsantan was hired by Jabba the Hutt to track down the culprit who stopped his water tax, this man was Obi-Wan Kenobi.
After a brutal fight and Black Krrsantan brutally beating and nearly killing Owen, Lukes’s uncle, Obi-Wan slashed through a boulder with his lightsaber blinding the Wookiee for a short amount of time. So this could theoretically see this play out in the upcoming Obi-Wan series.
Another reason could be the rumored Doctor Aphra series that is happening. While this series hasn’t been truly announced, it has been spoken about, and with the character’s hype and fanbase, I don’t see why it won’t be announced and Black Krrsantan could join that series.
It also fits that Doctor Aphra has worked with Boosk in the past and both Boosk and Black Krrsantan have a rivalry because of their species hating one another.
After the fanbase was introduced to the character, I feel as though he will be a major player going forward in multiple Star Wars projects, whether that be live-action, animated, video games, or comics.
