We’ve been operating Comic Universe for over 3 years now. We’ve reviewed a total of 29 shows, and over 550 episodes. Today, for us as well, we wanted to show you what our highest-rated shows have been and what our lowest is.
We have only reviewed shows that fall into the superhero category, and we only reviewed episodes from around March 2019. So shows like Arrow, we won’t have reviewed the full show. Please bear that in mind when you read on.

*The rating on each title is the average across all of the episodes we have reviewed.
If an episode has the same average rating, the higher rank will go to the show that did it in more episodes. If both of them are the exact same, then we make our own decision.*
28. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
- 50 episodes
- 5.2/10 average
Legends of Tomorrow will always be remembered for the series that started off truly incredible, it felt different compared to other DC TV series on The CW at the time. The series felt actually serious compared to others. I will never forgive the producers and showrunners for turning it into what it became in later seasons.
27. Naomi
- 13 episodes
- 6.4/10 average
We can’t say we’re surprised to see Naomi so far up here. With an average of 6.4 during its entire first season, it was poor. It also came as no surprise whatsoever the show was canceled. If I am being brutally honest, I couldn’t have stomached another season of this. It was trash.
26. Black Lightning
- 30 episodes
- 7.6/10 average
Black Lightning wasn’t a terrible show but the timing wasn’t great. Not to mention the showrunners saying the show wouldn’t be part of the Arrowverse, only to later include it in Crisis hurt the show. The show should have centered on Jefferson Pierce in his prime.
25. Supergirl
- 46 episodes
- 7.7/10 average
Supergirl suffered a horrible fate and It was actually heartbreaking to see. The first season was amazing, well done, and focused on the character of Supergirl but as I mentioned it suffered a horrible fate. While these issues are true and do mean a lot, forcing these political issues into the series, in pretty much every episode just took me truly out of the series and the quality dipped massively.
24. Pennyworth
- 17 episodes
- 8/10 average
Jack Bannon is an amazing young Alfred Pennyworth, and it’s a shame at times where the story goes. The story with Martha and Thomas Wayne isn’t perfect and oftentimes lets the show down. They have a good cast but the direction needs to be better.
23. Agents of SHIELD
- 26 episodes
- 8.2/10
Agents of SHIELD had some incredible moments throughout the entire show’s run. Introducing characters such as Gravitron, Quake, and Ghost Rider, and giving HYDRA a proper story. The show had some impactful moments, and while it did take a hit in the story, it was always good for action.
22. Doom Patrol
- 31 episodes
- 8.2/10 average
At Comic Universe, this show is mainly dependent on who’s reviewing the show. Personally, I’m not a fan of it, but our content writer, Adam Grunther loves it. He reviewed the third season and the reviews were glowing in comparison to when I reviewed it. 8.2 is generous given that the first 2 seasons were reviewed by me. I feel like this show could have gone either way depending on who reviewed the lot. We’re hoping Adam takes season 4, and this should bump that up even further.
21. Cloak & Dagger
- 9 episodes
- 8.3/10 average
Another show on this list for me that was too slow. Granted, we only reviewed 9 episodes but if we had of reviewed more then I truly believe the 8.3 may have been a lot lower. The show took far too long to actually get into it. This was top of the list for me to be canceled when it was airing.
20. Krypton
- 10 episodes
- 8.5/10 average
Krypton. The show got so good before it was canceled. I don’t believe Krypton should have been canceled. We only managed to review 10 episodes of the show but the idea of it being before Krypton was destroyed before Superman etc was really interesting. I do wish we at least got another season for the show. Emmett J. Scanlan was a particular standout as Lobo in the series.
19. The Flash
- 62 episodes
- 8.5/10 average
The Flash has been a dodgy one for a while. It has spurts of brilliance but then it folds on itself. I mean, the show is about to be 9 seasons strong so it is understandable. I do however think, the show has a lot of its spark and what made it amazing in the first place.
18. Batwoman
- 51 episodes
- 8.7/10 average
On paper, being 18th doesn’t look all that game – but it got an 8.7/10. I still disagree with this. For me, Batwoman only had one good season which was the season prior to the cancelation. Seasons 1 and 2 weren’t great. I do believe we perhaps may have been too generous in our ratings in the first 2 seasons.
17. Moon Knight
- 6 episodes
- 9.2/10 average
Moon Knight was a series that I knew nothing about, I didn’t know the character, lore, or backstory. So heading into this series was an open book for me. The series made me fall in love with the character of Moon Knight because of his motives, his backstory, and his brutality.
16. Swamp Thing
- 10 episodes
- 9.2/10 average
As I stated in Moon Knight, I knew nothing of the character of Swamp Thing, only that he was connected to the Justice League Dark and Constantine. Headed into this series I did not know what to expect but we got introduced to some fantastic visuals and the suit for Swamp Thing was incredible.
15. Loki
- 6 episodes
- 9.3/10 average
Loki was just magical. The series caught my attention from the very beginning of the series. Getting introduced to Sylvie as another Loki from an alternate universe was actually incredible to see, she as well as the true Loki brought more definition to the character and moniker of Loki.
14. What If…?
- 9 episodes
- 9.3/10 average
The first season of What If…? was just absolutely mind-bending mischief. Each episode consisted of a new story, a new timeline, new characters, and fantastic action. The only true thing that I couldn’t get away with was the animation style.
13. The Boys
- 14 episodes
- 9.3/10 average
The Boys is just a different breed compared to every single show that’s on this list. With good reason too. Amazon Prime has done a brilliant job in bringing this show to life. All 3 seasons so far have been very well done.
12. Stargirl
- 25 episodes
- 9.3/10 average
One of the most underrated superhero shows in the present day. So much so in fact, season 1 actually hit perfect 10s across the board. Season 2 had some quieter moments but the thriller-esque type style they went with was impressive and successful. We’re super excited for what season 3 will bring.
11. Titans
- 27 episodes
- 9.3/10 average
Titans are just incredible, has been from the very first episode of the series. It gave us a fresh take on DC characters and lore. The visuals for each surrounding we saw in the series felt different in each city. The characters introduced into this series are ones that I expected not to see make it into live-action.
10. Invincible
- 8 episodes
- 9.4/10 average
Invincible is just a fantastic, well-produced, well-crafted, and bloody series. I knew nothing of the character but after the first episode, I became a fan. The entire season was brutal, bloody, and just action-packed.
9. Peacemaker
- 8 episodes
- 9.4/10 average
I fell in love with the character of Peacemaker in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. It was a “bottom of the barrel” character giving life in live-action which James and John Cena brought to the forefront of entertainment.
8. Arrow
- 16 episodes
- 9.4/10 average
If I am going to be honest, Arrow doesn’t deserve to be this far up. We only managed to review 16 episodes due to the timing. To give Arrow props, it did have a solid final season, so as a result of that, it naturally averaged higher. If we had reviewed this show from 1st episode, I believe it would have been much lower due to the poor seasons it did have.
7. The Bad Batch
- 16 episodes
- 9.4/10 average
Set in the galaxy at a time when Order 66 has just been executed, The Batch Bad delivered a fantastic animated story set in the Star Wars galaxy. The story of “what happened to these mutated Clones” is very interesting and delivered some fantastic story-telling. Also expanded on the backstory of Boba Fett.
6. Superman & Lois
- 29 episodes
- 9.5/10 average
What a show this truly is. I will happily recommend this show to absolutely anybody. The CW has made a lot of mistakes in their time running the Arrowverse but this show is not one of them. Thoroughly deserving a top 3 in this list with such ease. The showrunners need to be proud of what they have achieved with this show.
5. The Book of Boba Fett
- 7 episodes
- 9.8/10 average
Personally, I still don’t think a Boba Fett show was REALLY needed. I didn’t mind him showing up in The Mandalorian to help out, but even still, it was very interesting to see how he survived the events of Return of the Jedi. How it all came full circle and obviously Mando showing up was genius.
4. The Falcon & The Winter Soldier
- 6 episodes
- 9.9/10 average
The Falcon & The Winter Soldier was a hilarious, powerful, impactful, and action-packed story. We got to witness the aftermath of Captain America Steve Rogers handing down his shield to Anthony Mackie’s “Falcon”, and the fallout of the “Blip”.
3. WandaVision
- 9 episodes
- 9.9/10 average
WandaVision was the first Marvel show that ventured into the new Disney+ platform. I personally loved the show. I loved where they went with it, how they set it up for the Doctor Strange sequel, and everything else it set up. I was hoping for a season 2 but we all know that’s well off the cards now.
2. Obi-Wan Kenobi
- 6 episodes
- 10/10 average
For me, Obi-Wan Kenobi was the perfect story. The timing felt right. The fallout of Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan’s PTSD, and how he dealt with it. The coming of age story for Leia and her beginnings into this fierce leader that she becomes. Darth Vader was brutal and this is what we need to see more of in the future whether that be a movie or series focused on Darth Vader.
1. The Mandalorian
- 16 episodes
- 10/10 average
16 Episodes and 10/10 for each episode is honestly impressive. The Mandalorian could have either debuted and failed or given the galaxy of Star Wars a fresh take on the culture, the mythos, and legacy of The Mandalorians. Pedro Pascal is one of the best castings to ever grace Star Wars.
There are 2 shows that we didn’t add to this list. Ms. Marvel & Watchmen. Ms. Marvel is still airing and we have only reviewed the 3 episodes available so it wouldn’t be fair to rethink that.
Watchmen was reviewed but it wasn’t scored by our former writer so it would be unfair to guess the scores. We have left these 2 shows out due to that.
Please remember, that we have reviewed over 500 episodes. There are some on this list we agree with and that we don’t. The idea of this article was to showcase our numbers. I’d love to put Superman & Lois higher but I wanted this to be a true reflection of how we’ve reviewed and ranked our shows.
