Could Mace Windu Show Up in The Book of Boba Fett?

For any Star Wars fan, seeing Luke Skywalker unexpectedly and surprisingly showing up in The Mandalorian season 2 finale was mind-blowing. Even myself, I watched that episode 3 or 4 times in the days after that episode aired because it blew me away.

Disney may have fallen apart slightly on their movies side but one thing they’ve done exceptionally well at is bringing some Legends aspects of Star Wars back to canon. One of the major things they brought back from Legends was Boba Fett himself and his survival with the Sarlacc Pit.

One of the other things they have done so well with The Mandalorian is the surprise entries. Back in season 1, I would have never expected Ahsoka Tano, Luke Skywalker, or Bo-Katan to show up and this is where I’m getting at.

We know in Episode 3: The Revenge of the Sith Mace Windu almost has Emperor Palpatine beat. As he goes to hit the final blow on the Emperor he’s stopped viciously by Anakin who takes his arm off, incapacitating him, leaving him wide open for Palpatine to use his electricity to play golf with his body.

However, for me personally, his death was never final.

We know Jedi have the ability to drop 100’s of meters in the air and land on their feet with relative ease. We also know they can easily lose limbs without too much of a hindrance.

We even further know that Palpatine’s force electricity is actually not all that powerful. It took multiple strikes to break down Darth Vader’s suit, and that was vulnerable to these sorts of attacks.

Adding on top of his death, it never really felt final. We never saw his body and we pretty much never heard of his name again after this. Is it too plausible to think that he could have survived and gone into exile? I mean, look at what Darth Maul survived in Episode 1…

Mace Windu plays a pivotal part in Boba Fett’s history. He was the one that killed Jango Fett (Boba’s father) in Episode 2. We even got a glimpse of this in the first episode of The Book of Boba Fett. We relive the moment Boba holds his deceased father’s helmet which is seemingly the moment he became the famous bounty hunter we all love today.

Having Mace show up would do wonders for the show in many different ways. The first one is the surprise. I know so many people who decided to give The Mandalorian a chance just because of the Luke Skywalker moment. Despite knowing how highly rated the show is. Samuel L Jackson returning to the role once more would be incredible.

The next point would be closure for the character. We know in the series that Jango was working alongside the Sith essentially. Having Windu show up would not only be closure for our fans for Mace, but it would also be closure for Boba’s character in knowing the reason why he had to be stopped.

Third and most importantly, it would be exceptionally entertaining. We’ve seen how much Boba has grown since his incident with the pit. We’ve seen him become more heroic in his actions but maintaining that brutality that made him so famous among the galaxy.

Boba Fett’s first episode set a fantastic precedent in showing us what’s in store. Especially the flashback scenes on his he initially survived and also the problems he has to endure as a result of it. I’m not saying I expect a surprise now in every Star Wars show because of Luke, but it would be damn nice to see Mace Windu again.
