What I Liked

1. I do like how the episode opened up. The monologue from Foggy, the different areas, cultures, and people of New York City, and the banter between Matt and Karen. I truly have missed Daredevil and I am already amazed by the visuals. The slight tease of Bullseye was amazing too.

2. Bullseye’s introduction into this season was him literally outsmarting Matt and being able to shoot Foggy outside of Josie’s bar before Matt even returns. The two engage in a brutal fight with Matt taking a few knives to the body.

3. We get to see the trial of Bullseye where we see Matt take the stand to testify against Bullseye when he gets interrupted by Karen walking into the courtroom. Matt goes on to state that justice will not be served because he won’t see his friend, Foggy, again. In this scene, you can truly feel the emotion in Matt’s speech and body language.

4. I love the reaction from Matt when he realizes that Fisk is running for Mayor. Seeing him walk through the city and listen to people talk and support Fisk, someone who Matt has had a very long history with. Matt knows that Fisk is immediately up to know good.

5. Fisk and Matt sit down and speak. I really liked this scene because the spoke about past incidents from the Daredevil Netflix show, Maya shooting Fisk in the face in the Hawkeye series. Fisk asks Matt why he stopped being a vigilante and Matt’s response is “A line was crossed, I felt like I had lost the privilege”.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment would be the moment Matt and Bullseye are having a fight on the roof, all while Matt is listening to Foggy’s heartbeat get slower and slower until it stops and this is when Matt hears the heart stop and screams out loud and throws Bullseye to the floor below.

Standout Character

The standout character I’m going to give is to Matt. It’s nice to have him fully back in his own series.

Verdict

A solid start to what seems to be a great series. The action was great and the story was even better. Seeing Matt, Foggy, and Karen all happy in what resorts to tragedy to humble new beginnings is amazing.
