Season 1 Episode 5 – “A day in the life of Matt Murdock gets intense, forcing him to team up with a familiar face.”

What I Liked
1. Matt Murdock is in the bank trying to get a loan with a familiar face, Kamala Khan’s father. We get to see that her father has a custom-designed Funko of Ms. Marvel. It’s nice that we even have a mention of Kamala in Daredevil.
2. The Bank robbers chose two hostages to release to the police. The robbers pick a woman and Matt. Matt offers to let the woman’s partner take his place instead, and Matt begins to manipulate the robbers into keeping him.
3. Matt asks to go to the bathroom, and while on the way there, he begins to disable his stick and take off his tie and begins to fight one of the robbers that is escorting him to the bathroom. Matt manages to put the robber asleep by choking him out while Kamala Khan’s father is distracting another robber.
4. The robbers were not trying to rob the bank for the money but for one safety deposit box. The box, whose owner we do not know, has a very expensive diamond in it. Matt is curious about who the robbers are working for.
5. Matt puts on the red robber mask and begins to fight with the leader of the robbers, and Matt, throughout this fight is quite brutal as he is against the robber. Matt smashes his face into some glass and breaks his leg.
What I Disliked
The only dislike I have in this episode is that it was a filler episode. I mean this story that nothing to do with the main story or even Muse.
Favorite Moment
The police enter the bank and put pepper spray everywhere. Matt is using this as his opportunity to knock one robber out while he uses his senses to look for the leader, who Matt knows has changed his outfit and hears him pass off the diamond to one of the hostages.
Standout Character
I will give this to Matt. He was a pivotal piece in the bank robbery, and seeing him able to crack a safe was amazing.
Verdict
While this episode did have a couple of moments that were interesting, it was slightly underwhelming going to this episode from a decent last episode, where The Punisher was reintroduced to the show, so I think he should have been a big part of this episode.
