DC Announces “Injustice” As Next Animated Movie

DC recently revealed that the next movie in their “animated slate” of movies will be no other than the iconic “Injustice” story. We got confirmation that the trailer will debut as a bonus on the Blu-ray edition of The Long Halloween Part 2.

If you didn’t know, Injustice was a video game series and a bunch of comics. The plot was set in an alternate reality where the Joker had killed Lois Lane and Superman’s unborn child and then detonates a nuclear warhead in Metropolis killing 5 million people.

Superman kills the Joker and continues to kill any criminal and becomes more corrupt, he even goes as far as getting heroes and villains to join him while Batman leads a resistance against Superman and the people who joined him.

The game was set in stone, but in the comics, we got an expanded look into the universe where this was happening, what happened to many characters like the Teen Titans, The Green Lanterns, and many more. The story was absolutely interesting.

While no official details surrounding the plot of the movie have been revealed, though with The Long Halloween, Part Two scheduled for a July 2021 release. It’s unclear if the video game voice actors will return to reprise their roles and unclear just how much the animated movie will follow the comics and video games.

While I am excited for an animated movie for Injustice, I am hoping this leads DC into making more stories into animated movies like DCeased, any Future State story, and many other DC stories. I believe this will be a step closing to making the animated DC movie universe a great and stable universe.
