DC seemed to have stepped away from the original comic cons to announce their upcoming projects. Last year, they did a virtual event due to the COVID19 pandemic which proved to be a huge success.
DC decided to continue that feat this year, and we were not disappointed. Despite a lack of “announcements” this year, we did get further news, footage and behind the scenes for projects that were announced last year. This year was mainly going into further depth on the projects announced last year.
We will work our way through, if we miss anything that you know, let us know down in the comments and we’ll be happy to ensure that’s added in.
1. Black Adam
Dwayne Johnson himself was at the event to further announce his upcoming movie which feels like has been announced for years. We were half expecting a trailer, but the team had just wrapped filming and the movie was in production. We were blessed with some behind-the-scenes footage including the opening scene of the movie.
2. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League
This was a game announced at last year’s DC FanDome, and we’re yet to see any proper gameplay of the upcoming 2022 video game. However, we did get a full-length trailer which just looks absolutely fantastic, even including The Flash. You can see for yourself just how good the game looks;
3. Peacemaker
James Gunn and John Cena have displayed such passion when it comes to their characters. Since The Suicide Squad’s soft reboot, Peacemaker has been a character that a lot of people have come to love, so much so in fact that he gained his very own spin-off from the movie. The series looks as though it will serve as a sequel to the movie. We got a trailer from FanDome which was announced by both Cena and Gunn.
4. The Flash
Ezra Miller opened up his panel for The Flash, which did include a sneak peek for the upcoming Flashpoint movie. In the trailer, we got glimpses of Batman and Supergirl. We did hear that we wouldn’t be getting a trailer prior to FanDome, but this pretty much serves as one. We just want to take a second to appreciate just how stunning the suit looks.
5. Gotham Knights
This is one of the projects that has me super excited. Gotham Knights was announced last year where we actually got a trailer plus a gameplay trailer. This year we did just get a trailer, but we know now the game will definitely be with us in 2022 as it was delayed from this year. The trailer shows us more of the characters and the story. We could not be more excited about this one.
6. Titans
Titans seem to be the show that continues winning people over. Season 3 has been no exception. In the panel for Titans, Brenton Thwaites appeared to let us know 2 pieces of information. The first was a sneak peek into the finale of season 3, which shows Red Hood seemingly back helping the Titans. Perhaps, however, the most important news was in fact the show has been renewed for a season 4. Titans is one of our most loved shows so this news overjoyed us a bit.
7. DC League of Super-Pets
This movie was announced quite some time ago but does star Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. The movie is an animated movie that looks like it’s catered more towards kids but looks so damn fun nonetheless. The teaser was released at FanDome.
8. Pennyworth
No trailer was shown for Pennyworth, but it was the news instead that was the key point at yesterday’s DC FanDome. Pennyworth has had 2 seasons on Epix which is a pretty well-received show, but in my opinion, due to the platform, not many people have heard about it.
Moving forward for season 3, Pennyworth will officially be on HBO Max which is a massive move for the show. Obviously, alongside the news that the show has moved platform, this was a clear announcement the show will be returning for a season 3.
9. The Batman
Just like last year, they kept the best part until last. Robert Pattinson’s The Batman received a full-length trailer, considering last year the trailer we got was only from a small portion of what they filmed at the time. The movie is now pretty much complete, and the trailer we got looked absolutely amazing. The movie is set for release on March 4th 2022.
We did get panels and news for shows such as Aquaman 2, Batwoman, Young Justice, Superman and Lois but nothing that was worth reporting. The panels just discussed their respective shows.
Overall, FanDome was another huge success, and it does look as though DC has no plans of slowing down any time soon.
