Now, this theory is one that I’ve come to create on my own. To an extent, it could make sense. Especially with the state of the DC Film Universe at the minute.
Currently, we have the DC Extended Universe, We will have Matt Reeve’s Batman universe. Then we have the standalone Joker Universe or “Elseworlds”.
Jared Leto’s DCEU Joker.
First off, I’ll start with the most hated version of Joker (for some unknown reason). Jared Leto’s Joker is like 95% the New-52 Joker. From the tattoos to the hair.
For me, He’s the craziest yet scariest live-action Joker we have. From everything I’ve seen to things I’ve heard about the original Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad, This Joker is all for himself.
Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker
Now, People will ask but how does Phoenix’s Joker fit into this theory. It would be a Joker from a different timeline, however in this case it would be from another Earth.
If DC decides to do a live-action story involving the 3 Jokers from the comics. They could easily have Ezra’s The Flash be the cause of the 3 Jokers team up eventually. Phoenix’s Joker could not be the ring leader but he could purely be the inspiration for the younger Jokers.
Matt Reeve’s Joker
Now, we haven’t had this confirmed but it has been heavily rumored to be in the sequel to Robert Pattinson’s The Batman. Depending on the Joker in that movie, they could easily connect it to Phoenix’s Joker, especially after the events of the standalone Joker movie.
Essentially Phoenix’s Joker started a Joker movement. Many people went crazy, starting riots, and just straight-up criminal activity. We also got to see a child version of Bruce in the movie. This kid could easily grow up to become Robert Pattinson’s Bruce. If a joker does in fact get brought into a sequel movie, the Joker could easily have motivations and aspirations to become better than Phoenix’s Joker and could be one of the reasons why Bruce hates clowns.
Overall, It would make for an interesting live-action movie about a Joker from each Earth. Especially coming up against a young Robert Pattinson as Batman. I’d love to see it happen especially with it being a huge thing in the comics.
I’d love to see Jared Leto’s Joker meet up with Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker. I think the craziness would be off the charts with these two.
