Deadpool & Wolverine has made R-rated history. The long-awaited team-up between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman has smashed numerous records both domestically and internationally with the global launch of the movie making $444.1 Million.
Deadpool & Wolverine opened to a record staggering $211 million at the domestic box office, which landed the film at the 6th biggest opening of all time for any film and by far the biggest R-rated film launch.
This is up from the estimate on Sunday which was $205 million which would have made it the eighth-biggest opening of all time. The previous record R-rated holder was the first Deadpool movie which was at $133.7 million.
This showcases how the movie is out-pacing all modeling as the jump from $205 million to $211 is a big jump meaning the Sunday traffic to see the film was far bigger than expected.
Deadpool & Wolverine also shattered records for an R-rated picture on a global scale, opening to $233.1 million at the international box office from 55 material markets for a worldwide start of $441.1 million, up from Sunday’s estimate of $438.3 million.
This movie is so great that it’s easily going to shatter that billion-dollar mark at the box office and honestly, it’s so deserved.
