Season 1 episode 12 “Silas and the team break into the Ant Farm to rescue Victor.”
The Good & The Bad
The Good
1. The episode starts off with the Bureau of Normalcy doctors checking on Vic’s nerves and cybernetic parts. Next we see Vic inside a cell next to a random other weird character who is a prisoner. Vic starts to have a mental breakdown because he thinks Grid is trying to take over and is keep showing Vic the video of his mothers death.
2. Larry tells Silas that Vic is at the Ant Farm and explains after World War 1 he was an asset to the Bureau of Normalcy and that they had kept him as a prisoner and mentally broke him down and tortured him.
3. The team heads into the Ant Farm and instantly gets captured… Jane gets electrocuted, Cliff gets caught with a magnet and they use a gun to capture the negative energy inside Larry.. reminded me of Ghost Busters.
Rita was inside of Cliff and she get’s Cliff from the magnet that’s keeping him on the ceiling, he falls onto the doctor that’s torturing him. Jane is being tortured by the agent she broke the hand of last episode, She escapes by letting her “Karen” persona out and makes the agent fall in love with her.
4. Larry gets free and let’s the negative energy out of the container and it destroys the lab and let’s all the prisoners out and saves them all.
5. Silas’s plan for inside the Ant Farm consisted of the team getting caught so Silas could get to where Vic was. The episode proved that Silas was looking out for Vic and actually does care.
The Bad
1. The Lack of Mr Nobody is depressing, he’s such a great villain. I’m glad he returned this episode.
2. Walking butts with teeth, i’ll say no more.
Holy Shit Moment
This weeks holy shit moment was when “grid” rebooted and showed Vic a video of Silas not caring that Vic would be turned fully cybernetic, this causes Vic to lash out punching Silas in the face a few times seemingly killing him… this prompts Mr Nobody to appear and let Vic know he planned this.
Easter Eggs
There was a “Watchmen” mention by the agent who was torturing Jane, he mentioned “Rorschach” and showed pictures of his mask.
Verdict
Probably the best episode of the season so far, Mr Nobody is a perfect villain and Joivan Wade has the best performance this episode the passion and emotion he showed was incredible. Decent episode overall
