Season 1 episode 14 “The group prepares for one last stand against Mr. Nobody and rescue the Chief. Victor learns a hard truth.”
The Good & The Bad
The Good
1. The episode starts off with a flashback to 1946 Chicago where we see a woman waiting in a restaurant waiting on someone, not long after Eric or as we know him Mr Nobody walks in and tells the woman that the Brotherhood of Evil have kicked him from the group.
2. The Doom Patrol set out to find Niles and come across a street so Larry introduces them and Danny the Street and Flex Mentallo know each other. Danny tells the Patrol that he knows where Niles is but is scared of Mr Nobody. We find out Niles is in the “White Space” which means on the outside of the comic book pages.
3. Silas awakens in the hospital bed with Vic by his side, Silas noticed Vic has reset Grid and they have a heart to heart conversation. Silas tells Vic that not all his memories are real.
4. Mr Nobody puts the Doom Patrol in different times, Larry with his family before his accident, Rita before hers, Cliff before he gets into the crash which kills his family and Jane in the mental hospital.
Larry, Cliff and Rita come to terms with how their life is and how far they’ve truly came as a team so they all leave the memory to go find Niles, Hammerhead tries to free Jane but Jane’s persona fights back. Rita outsmarts Mr Nobody by narrating the story herself so she finds Cliff and Larry and the Niles. Mr Nobody appears then the Therapist persona of Jane’s come’s and starts to analyze Mr Nobody.. He then disappears with Cyborg standing behind him.
5. With Mr Nobody seemingly dead.. The Doom Patrol goes back to the mansion and become a team, with somewhat outfits to stand out as a team, alarms ring and the Doom Patrol set out to stop the Brotherhood of Evil when she come up against a giant robot with Niles looking on the Patrol all get burned and die.. we see Niles repeating this day over and over again with different deaths until he realizes Mr Nobody is actually Vic once the real Vic walks in.
The Bad
1. Flex Mentallo informs the group he knows where and what the “white Space” is and tells them he can open a portal by flexing a muscle… He flexes a muscle and everyone stops what there doing, the group and everyone else on the street and danny all begin to have a orgasm and seemingly ejaculate.
Holy Shit Moment
Silas tells Vic about the memory of him and his mom both lying on the grass after the explosion and tells Vic that it’s something he told him everyday until Vic believed it. Silas tells Vic that both he and his mom survived the explosion but Niles told Silas that Vic was the one worth saving and more likely to survive the operation so Silas had to choose between Vic and his mom. Vic gets angry and sets off to help the Doom Patrol save Niles.
Mr Nobody gets Niles to tell the truth… the truth is that Niles is responsible for the groups accidents that made them the way they are.
Verdict
Another crazy but weirdly wild episode. We learn about who’s responsible for the groups so called accidents. Mr Nobody is truly an epic villain. Brotherhood of Evil has been mentioned throughout the series so could we see them?
