Season 2 Episode 4 “The Dannyzens hold a party at the manor to try and bring Danny back.”
What I Liked
1. The entire LBGT group from season 1 in the Danny episode show up alongside Flex to help fix Danny and it’s just so great. The show is mostly doom and gloom with some comedic moments, and this lot just lightens up the episode. So, straight off the bat, I am incredibly excited about this episode and that deserves a like. No matter which way the episode goes.
2. I do really like how everyone is around Dorothy. It’s kind of a case of how no matter how different we all are, we’re still beautiful. It’s a sentimental message that is really showcased during the opening scenes of this episode.
3. As if Niles gives Cliff ecstasy. I don’t even know why I just like the idea, never mind it actually happening, but this is just a great idea from the offset. “Just a robot, doing the robot”. You will understand if you have watched it. Just brilliant.
4. Well, this week just took the weirdest and most creative turn I think I have ever seen in an episode. Even Cliff said he has no idea what’s going on, I’m right there with him, but it’s so damn entertaining! Especially with the Sex Demon releasing ghosts having sex, absorbing the energy.
What I Disliked
I get that Dorothy is technically a child, but she’s over 100 years old and seemingly still lead astray fairly often. It makes everyone walk on eggshells around her. She almost killed Danny because of one sentence. I like the character, I like the idea behind her, but I really wish she would have more strength and knowledge to make her own decisions.
Favourite Moment
I love Danny, and I love the ideology he has protecting those who feel like the world is against them. Although we’re watching a superhero show, his morals show, and they did again in this episode after he was on the mend. A solid end to the party.
Standout Character
Another difficult week to choose a character, but I have to give it to Rita this week. She faced her childhood traumas, eased her mind, and gave an amazing sentimental message to Dorothy. Also the viewers too. Plus, her acting when she was with Flex was outstanding.
Verdict
Sex Patrol was an incredible episode this week. The opening 3 episodes were a bit gloom, but this was so light-hearted I loved it. Every character had a role to play and smashed it. I was never bored throughout, and Danny is just so interesting and different.
