Dragon Ball Super Card Game Battle Evolution Booster Review

The latest booster series coming from Dragon Ball Super is the Battle Evolution card set which released back in March 2021.

The booster box consists of 24 booster packs with each pack containing 12 cards with each pack containing at least a rare card. A single pack is £3.99 or more on the market but for £3.99 a pack you can not go wrong at all, especially for what the packs contain.

I personally really enjoy these cards, I truly believe they are some of the best cards releasing from any franchise, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Yo, among others, the feel of these cards are amazing, they blow me away each time I open a pack. I have to praise them because it’s so easy to open a pack, they have slits in it which you can easily tear and slide the cards out whereas Pokemon can be a struggle to open.

The Battle Evolution set contains 233 types total, common (normal/holo) x60, uncommon (normal/holo) x30, rare (normal/holo) x18, super rare x16, secret rare x1. With 68 new cards and 57 reprints.

For Beginners

As I always say, buying a booster box for your first purchase or when your first diving into playing the TCG or just purely collecting or reselling, a booster box is the perfect way to go about it. It truly sets you up for success in each of the things you want to do with the cards.

So would I personally recommend this set? Definitely. I’d recommend any of these cards, new, old, or pre-orders, if you can, do it. You will not be disappointed with the set.

For Collectors

If you’re a collector and are going to get this set to get cards to keep in great condition and on display, good luck. For me, this was the weakest set that I’ve invested in so far. There is only a bunch of cards which has insanely nice artwork, the rest are pretty much average, still nice but nothing I’d send away to get graded.

Don’t get me wrong, the artwork is still some of the best I’ve seen in the trading card game scene, especially when you put it against some of the Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh cards, but as I said, only a bunch of cards has insanely nice artwork.

Purely For Profit

Now, this is going to be an interesting section to speak on. For myself, I made back the money I used to buy the actual box with one single card, on top of that I also pulled some of the higher-end cards in which go for around 7-9 great British pounds. I think with around 4 cards that I pulled I made around £135 back.

This could be purely different for everyone, but even still, buying a box like this and flipping each common and uncommon card for £1 will make you your money back and maybe more. Plus I think many people will pull at least 1 £7 card in their box.

So would I buy this box to invest purely for profit? Yes, it’ll be a challenge but in the end you will make profit.

At the end of it, this set is an absolute steal of a box, whether you want to play, collect, sell you can easily do any one of those. I mean if you truly want, you could buy this box for around £80-£85 and keep it sealed for a few months and flip it for a tiny bit more if the market goes in the right direction, it’s not a guarantee.
