Game of Thrones star is in final negotiations to join Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series “Secret Invasion”.
Her role is currently being kept under wraps, and she joins Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Olivia Colman.
Marvel Studios declined to comment, reps for Clarke did not immediately comment on the casting.
The series is said to follow a group of shape-shifting aliens who have been infiltrating Earth for years. Ben-Adir has been set as the main villain.
Secret Invasion was announced last year with it being one of many projects that Marvel is developing for Disney+ with Jackson reprising his role of Nick Fury as well as Mendelsohn returning as the Skrull Talos from Captain Marvel.
Kyle Bradstreet is attached to write and executive produce. Kevin Feige’s unit is producing the series for the streamer.
I have to say, this is a fantastic casting, Emilia Clarke is such a great actor and I’m excited to see what she does in the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward.
