Disney+ has been on a roll with their shows since their launch with some fantastic exclusives such as The Mandalorian, WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If…?, The Bad Batch, and more recently, Hawkeye.
The Book of Boba Fett is set to be released on the 29th December 2021 which will lead into the beginning of 2022, but, what other shows do we have to look forward to? Unfortunately, a lot of these shows don’t have release dates right now and could very well be delayed.
Here’s the list;
- Ms. Marvel
- Moon Knight
- Secret Invasion
- She-Hulk
- What If…? season 2
- The Bad Batch season 2
- The Mandalorian season 3
- Obi-Wan Kenobi
- Andor
1. Ms. Marvel
Ms. Marvel is an upcoming American television miniseries created by Bisha K. Ali for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics character Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel.
This is a show I didn’t really care for all that much. I enjoyed Ms. Marvel’s introduction into the Marvel’s Avengers game for the console, but I didn’t care for the fact she was getting a standalone show. However, as the little clips have been released my excitement was boosted. Now, I’m genuinely hyped for this show and the fact a relatively unknown actress was cast for the role.
2. Moon Knight
Moon Knight is an upcoming American television miniseries created by Jeremy Slater for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.
Moon Knight is a character that does pique my curiosity. I never really expected Moon Knight to be given the time of day considering before this was even announced he was just a meme. “Random bullshit, go!“
However, with the cast of Oscar Isaac and the suit in live-action, I believe this is going to be one that will take a lot of fans by complete surprise. We did get a small clip of the show from Disney+ Day which you can view below.
3. Secret Invasion (possible)
Secret Invasion is an upcoming American television miniseries created by Kyle Bradstreet for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics storyline of the same name.
Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Christopher McDonald, Olivia Colman, and Killian Scott have been cast for the show alongside Ben Mendelsohn who’s reprising his role as Talos.
Cobie Smulders will be reprising her role as Maria Hill, and Samuel L Jackson is set to return as Nick Fury.
4. She-Hulk
She-Hulk is an upcoming American television series created by Jessica Gao for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.
I have read a few comics for She-Hulk and they never really entertained me. Jennifer Walters isn’t a character I particularly care for, but this small clip did change that perspective for me.
Mark Ruffalo will be returning to his role as the Hulk alongside the star of the show Tatiana Maslany who will be portraying Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk). I am intrigued to see how she fits into the MCU moving forward.
5. What If…? season 2
After a hugely successful season 1, What If…? was immediately renewed for a second run. This is a show that I believe could easily contain a magnitude of seasons because as The Watcher says, there are endless possibilities and one tiny change could switch everything up.
One of the many things I enjoyed about What If…? was the actual actors returning to their roles to voice their character. The late Chadwick Boseman, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Michael B Jordan, and Jeremy Renner were just a few that voiced their respective characters in the show.
With how the last season went with Ultron, I am incredibly excited to see where the second season goes.
6. The Bad Batch season 2
The animated Star Wars Godsend from 2021 was The Bad Batch. The show was well-received by critics and fans alike. It’s seriously no surprise Disney renewed this for a season very quickly. For me personally, I’m not usually a fan of animated content but with this and What If…?, Disney+ has really changed my perspective on these types of shows.
The show currently sits on an 88% Tomato Meter and 81% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
7. The Mandalorian season 3
The show that many fans say is carrying the Star Wars franchise on its shoulders right now. Is that a bit much? No. It’s really not. The Mandalorian is my all-time favorite show that’s ever been released, period. Due to the show’s popularity for Din Djarin, Grogu, Ahsoka, and more recently Luke Skywalker, it’s no surprise fans adore this show so much.
We know Pedro Pascal recently returned to set to film for the next season so we fully expect the third season to be released in 2022. The Book of Boba Fett took the show’s usual spot of release but we’re okay with that as well. This is one show that I literally have no idea what to expect in the upcoming season.
It’s one thing Disney does so well with their shows. They keep their cards very close to their chest. All we end up with is fake leaks and theories. It’s a job well done.
8. Obi-Wan Kenobi
Besides The Mandalorian, this is the show that I’m most excited about this year. Ewan McGregor will be set to return to his role as Obi-Wan, and even Hayden Christensen is set to return to his role as Darth Vader. This show has been in the making for a few years now. The fact we’re so close to it now makes me warm inside. If I die before this is released I’m going to be raging.
As of now, we don’t have a trailer. I think most fans did expect one from Disney+ Day but we did get a lot of concept art which looks fantastic. There are rumors this show could be released in either March or May, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we have a release date.

8. Andor
Andor is an upcoming American television series created by Tony Gilroy for the streaming service Disney+. It is a prequel to the Star Wars film Rogue One, following the character Cassian Andor five years before the events of the film. Diego Luna executive produces and reprises his Rogue One role as Cassian Andor.
In a very unpopular opinion, Rogue One wasn’t a film I cared a lot for. Whilst I liked the idea we got the events leading up to the beginning of A New Hope and the best Darth Vader scene so far, it just didn’t bother me. Unfortunately, Andor is also a show I’m not bothered about. I’ll watch it of course, but right now we don’t have a lot of details surrounding the show except the main plot.
Maybe my mind will change once further details, clips and images are released.
