Everything From Marvel At SDCC ’19 (Updated)

After EndGame and Spider-Man: Far From Home, I have to admit, I was skeptical going forth with the MCU. Cap, Ironman, and Black Widow all seemingly gone. I just didn’t know if Marvel could really reach the heights from the Infinity Saga again. After the announcements, I still feel the same, but I trust Marvel, and Disney with their golden egg.

Writing this article, I will give my opinions, and also write what we know from each announcement very briefly.

Phase 4 will be as follows;

May 1st, 2020 – Black Widow
1. Black Widow will follow the events following Civil War.
2. Taskmaster has been officially confirmed to be in the movie.
3. It will follow the events of Budapest as mentioned in other movies.
4. No trailer is out yet, but we reckon it will definitely be in a month or two.
5. Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, David Harbour as Alexei AKA Red Guardian, Florence Pugh as Yelena, O-T Fagbenle as Mason and Rachel Weisz as Melina.

While I think this movie is a solid addition to the MCU, and will fall under the Infinity Saga, I still feel like this movie should have never been given the go-ahead. Don’t get me wrong, I think the movie will be incredible by all means, I just think prequels are not needed. Especially given the fact the character died in EndGame.

Fall 2020 – Falcon and the Winter Soldier
1. It will be the first standalone TV series to hit Disney+.
2. We will see Falcon don Captain America’s shield, while coming to terms with the new mantle.
3. The limited series will consist of 6 episodes and will take place after the events of Avengers Endgame.
4. The plot is unknown at this time but the villain Baron Zemo will return with his iconic purple mask.
5. Daniel Bruhl is confirmed to return.

November 6th, 2020 – Eternals
1. It will be a full feature length movie.
2. So far, only Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren ridloff, Brian T. Henry, Salma Hayek, Don Lee and Lia McHugh have been cast.
3. Keanu Reeves is still massively rumored to be cast.
4. Plot, villain, and pretty much everything is still unknown at this point.
5. Can probably expect a tease out towards the end of the year.

February 12th, 2021 – Shang-Chi: and the Legend of the Ten Rings
1. Simu Liu has been cast for the role of Shang-Chi, Simu auditioned on Sunday and got the role on Tuesday. Awkwafina and Tony Leung have also joined the cast with Tony Leung playing The Mandarin.
2. He will be the first new addition to the MCU.
3. The movie will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.
4. No other news, or plots have been confirmed yet.

Spring 2021 – Wandavision
1. Teyonah Parris is confirmed to star in the series as Monica Rambeau who was previously in Captain Marvel as a child.
2. The plot takes place after the events of Endgame and will lead into Doctor Strange 2.
3. Paul Bethany will return for the role of Vision, so potential spoilers going forth there.
4. It will be another one of the series to be featured on the upcoming Disney+ streaming service.

May 7th, 2021 – Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness
1. The movie will be PG-13 and will have horror elements.
2. The villain has been confirmed to be that of Nightmare, tying in with the horror elements.
3. Elizabeth Olsen will also feature in the movie after the events of Wandavision.
4. Nothing else has been confirmed with the movie as of yet.

Spring 2021 – Loki
1.It will be the third series to hit Disney+.
2. It will follow Loki after his disappearance in EndGame.
3. We have no other news to confirm at this time.

Summer 2021 – What If
1. Perhaps one of the most exciting phase 4 additions to date.
2. It will be an animated series featuring on Disney+.
3. The show will have major events in the MCU and others on a what if basis. E.g. what if Thanos won again in EndGame? Plus a lot more.

Fall 2021 – Hawkeye
1. Again, the show will be featured as a series on the Disney+ streaming service.
2. It will feature Kate Bishop, rumoured to take the mantle from Hawkeye.
3. More rumours are set it will show what Ronin was up to.

November 5th, 2021 – Thor Love & Thunder
1. Natalie Portman is set to reprise her role.
2. She will take the mantle of Thor, going forward with ”The Mighty Thor”.
3. It will also feature Valkyrie searching for her queen, set to be the first LGBT relationship within the MCU.
4. It will follow a string of comic book runs with the same story.
5. It is unclear at this time if it will feature Thor as Odinson being unworthy, or if he will pass the mantle down and continue using the stormbreaker. Either way, huge news.

So that is phase 4 confirmed. How’s it sounding so far? Or do you want more?

Well, lucky you, we have all the news confirmed including some massive additions to phase 5. All of these are pretty much just confirmed at this stage with no real news as of yet. With the exception of the Blade casting which you can read our article on here.

So what do we have?

1. Captain Marvel 2
2. Black Panther 2
3. X-Men reboot
4. Fantastic Four reboot
5. Blade
6. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 (at this stage you would think this would be before Love & Thunder but we don’t have a date, or near date on this just yet).

Which one are you most excited for?

Personally for me, it’s definitely Blade, Guardians 3, and Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
