It feels weird that it was only a few weeks ago I was ready to give up on Batwoman. I wrote an entire article about my issues with the show, and then, something changed.
For weeks now the show has been consistent, which is a huge change in how the season initially started out. Javicia Leslie is becoming an exceptional Batwoman, and the cast just keeps growing, and more than they ever have done the last four or so episodes.
When the show first began, my co-writer and friend, Phil Weaver mentioned that Camrus Johnson’s Luke Fox would eventually don the Batwing mantle. I disagreed, but now I can admit I was wrong.
Johnson has had a seriously deep arc as of late that touches on the real-life issues black people have when it comes to racism, and how bad it actually is in the real world – even if people think otherwise.
The entire story was dealt with in a beautiful way and shedding light on a problem that still exists today when it definitely shouldn’t be a great way to go. Even better is the fact that they’re bringing a tremendous character to light in Batwing.
As of now, we have no idea when Luke will suit up. He will still need a mass amount of training prior to that, but here at Comic Universe – WE CANNOT WAIT!
