What I Liked
1. Kate has done wrong, I get that but what I love is that the group isn’t forgiving her straight away, They barely trust her. Kate read their minds and Jordan gets upset at that. This is a huge point, Marie tells Jordan she could mess with their heads at any point but she isn’t.
2. Shetty wants to create the virus to completely wipe out supes. She’s asking Grace to give her the team affiliations, locations, and whereabouts of every supe, so they can wipe them out but Grace tells her it’s a war crime and that it won’t bring back her daughter and husband.
3. Andre’s father has a seizure on live television. Andre runs to the school and gets there right as his father is being put into the back of the ambulance. While en route to the hospital, he has another one causing the ambulance to get slightly crushed and the paramedic gets injured.
4. Victoria tells Marie to sense something about her and tell her about it. Marie looks confused and tells her she can only use blood as weapons. Victoria tells her to sense her blood and Marie uses that sense to find out that Victoria is using Compound V.
5. Kate uses her powers to tell Shetty to tell the group about what the school is really for. The students are test subjects. They are not human, they are here to be studied not study. She tells the group she wants the virus to spread across the globe to kill supes. Back in season 1 of The Boys, Homelander took down a plane killing everyone on board. Shetty’s family was on that plane. Kate uses her powers to tell Shetty to slit her own throat.
6. The doctor who created the virus meets secretly with Victoria. He hands over the virus to Victoria who tells him that he’s a 21st-century hero. He looks at the card she gave him when he notices it is blank and his nose is bleeding. His head explodes.
What I Disliked
Honestly, as a series set in The Boys universe, I would like to see more action. It has all the potential in the world.
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment would be seeing Jordan get into a fight with a bunch of supes as a distraction to allow Marie to enter a building and not get caught. Jordan is such a fantastic fighter.
Standout Character
I’ll give this to Victoria. She was her usual self in this episode. She used Marie to get what she wanted and then used her powers to explode someone’s head.
Verdict
Honestly, a weaker episode in the series. This episode, while the story somewhat progressed a tiny bit, was a lackluster episode in the sense of action. This series has the potential to be action-packed but it’s just not pushing that boundaries yet.
