What I Liked
1. We start the third episode at Sage Grove Center in a flashback to 3 years ago. We see Kate with Golden Boy and we see Sam going mental. Golden Boy calms him down. An officer shoots Sam with a taser, Sam gets enraged and punches his fist through the guard and out of his mouth. That was brutal.
2. Marie is being invited out by her therapist to a Brink event. The way this scene ended makes you question whether or not you can trust this therapist. Within this series, it’s very hard to know who and who you can’t trust.
3. Finally, Marie and Emma reunite and become more than roommates, they become friends. I think this is what both characters needed, more so Emma. I think Emma needed to be told how badass she is, and that people do actually want to be like her.
4. Andre comes up with a plan, use Emma to sneak into the place where they are keeping Sam locked up and have Emma find out what truly is happening. This is the first time we’ll actually be seeing Emma use her powers for something other than sex.
5. It seems like Marie, Emma, Jordan, Kate, and Andre all have messed up parent situations. They can bond over how their powers came into effect. Marie kills her parents, Kate tells her brother to walk and never come back, and obviously Jordan with his parents gives him compound V.
What I Disliked
Same as the last episode, not much action.
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment would be when Emma and Sam are speaking, a guard comes in and electrocutes Sam until Emma reacts by jumping onto the guard, crawling inside of his brain, and killing him. This was absolutely brutal.
Standout Character
Again, I have to give this to Emma. As a freshman, she stood up and said yes to Andre’s crazy plan. We see her using her powers for good and we even saw her kill someone. It was fantastic.
Verdict
Overall, similar to the last episode the little to no action truly hurt this episode. Although this episode was much better than episode 2, this was still a little lackluster in action even though we got that brutal death at the end.
