George Nolfi Set to Write Daisy Ridley’s Star Wars Movie

Star Wars has been quiet on the movie front for a long time. The last Star Wars movie to be given a theatrical release was Episode 9: Rise of Skywalker back in December 2019. It’s been over 4 years and we’re not even at the point of a trailer yet for any of the announced upcoming movies.

It was confirmed back in April 2023 at the Star Wars celebration event that Daisy Ridley would be reprising her role as Rey Skywalker/Palpatine/Nobody in a sequel film to Rise of Skywalker.

Since then, we’ve heard a whole lot of nothing. It was one project that people believed was dead in the water.

That was until now. Variety has confirmed that Bourne Ultimatum writer George Nolfi will be set to write the script for the upcoming movie.

In terms of my own opinion that you may or may not care for, I’m all for it. I loved the Bourne movies and I feel like Rey needs some injection to make her character truly resonate with the fans. The franchise needs something and after the Sequels, there’s a fresh slate for some creative to do something special with, create a new story to move forward with.

The next project from Star Wars will be the second season of Andor and the next movie release will be The Mandalorian and Grogu set for 2026. It’s nice above all else knowing we’re not too far away from getting to see some new Star Wars projects in the cinema.
