“Green Lantern” TV Series Revealed for HBO Max

The long-awaited Green Lantern TV series has finally had more information released about it with some pretty big Green Lanterns involved in the series.

The HBO Max series will consist of 10-episodes and will focus on the history of the Green Lanterns. The streaming service announced the series from producer Greg Berlanti and showrunner Seth Grahame-Smith.

The Green Lantern series will introduce popular heroes like Guy Gardner, Alan Scott, and Jessica Cruz in the first season of the upcoming live-action series.

We don’t know if it will be connected to the DC Comics movies or if the show will just be a live-action stand-alone series.

We don’t have a confirmed release date yet but the show will be co-written by Marc Guggenheim and Grahame-Smith and the episodes themselves will be 1-hour episodes.

HBO Max released a statement “From HBO Max, DC, Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television comes a bold adaptation of the iconic comic book franchise, a saga spanning decades and galaxies. Green Lantern will depict the adventures of a multitude of Lanterns, including Guy Gardner, Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, and Alan Scott — Earth’s first Green Lantern, who, true to the comics, is a gay man — and many more. The series will also include fan favorites such as Sinestro and Kilowog, and will also introduce new heroes to the ranks of the Green Lantern Corps.

My guess is that we will see Hal Jordan and John Stewart but they won’t be the main focus of the show they’ll be background characters as veterans of the Corps even though the big names are not mentioned, it doesn’t mean we won’t see them appear.
