How Cal Kestis Could Show Up in the Mandoverse – A Comic Universe Theory

There have been rumors for a while now that Cal Kestis, the character from the Star Wars video game, will be getting his own show on Disney+. The character is voiced and motion captured by Cameron Monaghan, who is already a well-known actor from Shameless, Gotham, and other productions.

Obviously, at this stage, it is just rumors and it’s very likely if it were to be true it wouldn’t happen until after the third Jedi game. If Cal was to get a show or show up before this, it would leave Respawn Entertainment with less of a creative outlook compared to having almost free reign.

It’s likely we’ll see how Cal’s story indeed plays out in the third game and if he dies, then it’s likely a show isn’t going to happen.

Here’s how I think Cal could show up in the Mandoverse at his current age and it’s pretty simple.

It’s pretty simple: Cal can be placed in stasis, like Dagan Gera in the Survivor game.

It would be great if the character Cal Kestis could make an appearance in the live-action platform. This would also explain why he has been silent so far, especially since he managed to anger Darth Vader enough to be hunted down by him. Perhaps he has been in stasis? Or he’s actually dead. Who knows.

Suppose he has been in stasis during The Battle of Yavin and up until the Imperial Empire’s defeat. In that case, it makes sense as to why nobody mentions him as they likely would fear he’s dead among the thousands of other Jedi, leading to Yoda’s comments to Luke that he’s the last remaining Jedi.

I’ve seen comments on this and if Cal was presumed to be alive during this stage then Luke isn’t the last remaining Jedi. Cal is a Jedi Knight after being knighted by Jedi Master Cere Junda. It makes sense as Ahsoka isn’t a Jedi and Grogu has barely even started any form of training around that time.

During that time, Cal emerged as a powerful Jedi, proving his strength in two games. He bravely faced Vader in the first game and defeated Dagan Gera, Bode Akuna, and the Ninth Sister in Survivor. It is evident that Cal should not be underestimated or overlooked as he possesses great power.

Answers need to be made as to where he’s been and I feel like if Disney wants to utilize the character then this may be the best way to go about it. This would also eliminate the need for any aging makeup or CGI.

I’m a massive gaming fan and these 2 games are among my favorite games of all time. Cal has become a character I’ve cherished as time has gone on. He’s someone I want to see be utilised within the live-action platform but ONLY after a third game. I want Respawn to have complete creative control for the third title and then give the character back.

It’s crucial that the character is returned unharmed. Killing him off in the third game would be a significant disappointment. If the Mandoverse is going to be the main established timeline (which seems likely, given The Mandalorian and Ahsoka), it’s crucial that he survives.

What do you think? Would you like to see Cal be part of the Mandoverse or would you rather he was kept to video games only? Let me know in the comments.
