Insomniac Games Has Failed With Spider-Man 2

Before I start this article, I will admit, I absolutely love Insomniac Games. I love the Marvel Spider-Man games, they’re some of the best games I’ve played. I loved the first one and it was only a month or so after the release of the game that we were given our first of three DLCs for the game.

We then got Miles Morales and his spin-off game. Miles Morales was another fantastic game and a game that debuted on the release of the PlayStation 5 so the hype was at an all-time high. We then got the reveal of Spider-Man.

While Spider-Man 2 was a great game, I have to admit that Insomniac Games has absolutely dropped the ball with the game post-launch. The only true thing the studio has done with the game has been releasing some suits into the game, and not even new suits either. The latest batch of suits added to the game were suits from the previous games… something which should have been in the game to start with.

Where is the DLC?

Where is the DLC? Where is the story after the main story? It feels like the game has come and died. Generally, they set up a few storylines within the main story that should have been DLC so why have we heard absolutely nothing from them regarding DLC?

They introduced Carnage in the main game, I literally came away thinking “Right, this is going to be DLC, I can not wait to fight Carnage” yet nothing has come. Why?

Yes, Insomniac Games has had to deal with a major thing with their studio employees’ information being released by a leaker and their entire road map for games until 2033 has been leaked too but this shouldn’t take away that the studio has left Spider-Man 2 to die.

I haven’t even thought about playing the game again with no DLC. It’s a game that set up DLC and needs to be added and expanded upon.

Honestly, I hate to say this but I’m disappointed. I hope and pray we get anything that points to DLC for the game.
