What I Liked
1. The opening of the episode gives us a flashback for Cecile. We see him try to stop a nerve gas bomb and to stop two villains setting it off. The villains are more powerful than what Cecile can deal with so they manage to set off the bomb while we see Cecile literally burn his skin off.
2. Cecile is pleading with Mark to just listen to why he’s working with villains. Mark is just absolutely smashing these undead cyborgs to pieces and Mark asks if this is all Cecile has. Cecile begins to hurt Mark because they had a device planted while Mark was in the hospital.
3. I absolutely love that the other heroes didn’t even hesitate to help Mark when Cecile was hurting him in front of them. Cecile even told them it didn’t concern them and Rex made the first move. This entire scene was amazing.
What I Disliked
Nothing to report.
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment was seeing a flashback of when Cecile became the director of the GDA. One of his first missions was to introduce himself to Omni-Man. Who explains his idea of needing to come to Earth to help protect it.
Standout Character
It was hard to choose a standout in this episode. On one hand, you have Cecile who stood out for his decisions and backstory, on the other hand, you have Mark who wanted all the smoke in this episode. So I’ll go with Mark.
Verdict
The second episode of this season felt very fast. It had a lot of action mixed in with an interesting story and on top of that managed to add in the right amount of flashback story which is something that feels like it’s hard to do these days. Overall a solid episode.
