What I Liked

1. The episode begins with a flashback scene from the perspective of another hero named Scott. Who is visiting his sister and niece when the whole Invincible fight with Omni-Man happens which causes Scott to lose his sister and niece. The tie-in with the Omni-Man fight is a really good way to bring this new powerful villain into play.

2. Seeing Powerplex get his suit as well as seeing his wife literally implant some metal plates into him to increase the power. His wife literally had to take a sledgehammer to him multiple times to get his power level to increase to withstand a punch from Invincible.

3. I do really like how Rudy has created a belt that will allow Amanda or “Monster Girl” to be able to change back and forth without de-aging at all. I feel like this could be the start of seeing this character more often now.

4. Powerplex attacks the memorial that is happening for the 2000+ people who died in Chicago when Omni-Man and Invincible fought. Eve realizes that he gets stronger every time he gets hit so she uses her powers to glue his hands to the ground.

5. The Invincible war is coming…

What I Disliked

Nothing to report.

Favorite Moment

Powerplex and Invincible finally go at it. Although Mark is a little bit hesitant about fighting Powerplex at first due to the reasons he’s doing this. Mark tries to save Powerplex’s wife and son but Powerplex stops him and begins to use all of his power to hurt Mark causing the deaths of his own wife and child.

Standout Character

I’m actually going to give this to Powerplex. He just wanted justice and no one offered him that, no one offered him an investigation. This is what led him to do what he did.

Verdict

A solid and very touching episode. The flashback of the Omni-Man and Invincible fight leading into the present-day fight was a really nice touch! Overall, the introduction to Powerplex was really good, and a solid character. The end tease of the multiverse of Invincibles was perfect.
