What I Liked

1. Doc Seismic arrives on Mark’s graduation day. He cracks and damages the Washington Monument while bringing some lava creatures to life to fight Invincible. Invincible, however, manages to defeat both the creatures and Doc Seismic. Although, after the Washington Monument was damaged.

2. Atom Eve goes back to Chicago to help rebuild after the destruction Omni-Man caused while fighting Invincible. A citizen speaks to Eve about the city and them not doing anything to do with the city so Eve uses her powers to rebuild a park within the neighborhood.

3. Rex tells The Immortal that basically his training sucks and that he can go F himself. I think The Immortal took this to heart even though he wouldn’t admit it so what does he go and do? Sleep with Rex’s “girlfriend”. Pettiness at the highest level.

4. Eve’s father explains to her that the plot of land she built the park on in Chicago was on top of an unstable part of the land which is why no one built on that land. While Eve did try to help, her father using this to prove Eve’s powers are a bad thing is insane.

What I Disliked

I get that Mark doesn’t want to be like his father, Omni-Man but making himself less available to his mother is not the way to go about it. He’s forcing himself to be ready on duty 24/7. The only time he isn’t is when he takes Kate to Vegas for lunch.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment would be when Mark gets taken to an underwater kingdom to do a ritual where if a king dies, the son has to marry the queen. Although they abolished that rule, Mark questions why he is there. Well, it’s a trial by combat. Mark gets beaten up by a huge sea creature. It gets loose from it’s chains and kills some kids. Mark returns to fight it. Mark tells Cecil that he isn’t his father so that’s why he’s going back.

Standout Character

I’ll give this to Mark. I think he’s finally good enough to tell himself that he isn’t like his father, that he is his own person. That he is a hero.

Verdict

Overall, a solid and fun episode. This was an episode that was huge for Mark in terms of self-belief. It’s what he needed. The episode showcased the rocky relationship between Eve and her parents. The tease at the end of the episode feels like we might get a Mark vs Mark at some point.
