Season 1 Episode 7 “Feeling lost and confused, Mark looks for advice from Eve. At the same time, everyone’s looking for him.”
What I Liked?
1. Nolan and Debbie “talk” about why Nolan killed the Guardians, he tells her he wanted to tell her months ago but he didn’t, she asks him why he kept the bloody suit, after a short argument she throws him out the house, he flies through the roof instead of using the door.
2. Mark officially tells Amber that he’s Invincible, but she tells him she knows and has known for weeks. I feel like this was a huge step for Mark. However, while I did like this scene, it also made my dislike list and I’ll tell you the reason why over there.
3. Robot is using the Mauler Twins to help create a human body for himself. He’s used DNA to get a child version of Rex. We find out that this is to help Monster Girl reverse the effects of her using her powers and each time growing younger. Robot has a plan to take the Mauler Twins back to prison but ends up leaving after getting an “apocalypse call”.
4. Cecil hits Omni-Man with a weapon from space which is basically a nuke, it ruins the area around Omni-Man, killing the life around it except for Omni-Man, he starts to fly up towards the 400 million dollar weapon in space and easily destroys it with only getting a nosebleed. Cecil then tries to stall Omni-Man from finding Mark by teleporting around Omni-Man asking questions like “does Mark know his father is a murderer?”. Cecil then sets the cyborgs from the last episode onto Omni-Man who has trouble at first but quickly destroys them as well.
5. Omni-Man then gets attacked by a huge alien creature who he’s already fought before but this time his pain receptor is gone, he’s struggling with it until Mark flies in and helps. While the father-son duo is handling this huge alien, we see that the Mauler Twins have resurrected The Immortal who remembers that Omni-Man killed him and the Guardians, he flies off and engages in a fierce battle with Omni-Man, both are throwing huge hits until Omni-Man punches a hole through Immortal, Immortal tries to rip Omni-Man’s eyes out but Omni-Man rips Immortal in half, on live TV and in front of Mark.
What I Disliked?
Amber and Mark, both were annoying this episode, not in a major bad way but just hard to describe. Let’s start with Amber, who knows and has known about Mark being Invincible for weeks and yet is angry he didn’t tell her straight away? typical story. Now let’s move onto Mark, this big hero who felt sorry for himself and had to be told by Eve that he can’t just sit back and let the Earth get destroyed because he’s down, Eve was the voice of reason.
Favorite Moment
Nolan returns to the house to speak with Mark but ends up finding the invisible soldiers sent by Cecil, he instantly starts killing them, he finds Donald who tries to hit a button, he grabs Donald by grabbing him by the spine… LITERALLY. Donald manages to get to the button and press it which blows up the house with Omni-Man but it doesn’t affect him.
Standout Character
I can’t give it to anyone other than Omni-Man, he was brutal, menacing, and just downright destructive. He was like a mix between Homelander from The Boys and Injustice Superman mixed into one character but upped by 10x.
The Verdict
This verdict will be short and sweet, this was the perfect episode, this was hands down, the best episode of the entire series thus far. Nothing but major action and the story progressed so much in one episode.
