Invincible “Where I Really Come From” Review

Season 1 Episode 8 “Mark must prove he’s become the hero he’s always wanted to be by stopping an unstoppable force.”

What I Liked?

1. The episode opens up with blood raining down on some flowers and plants, we then see the pieces of Immortal’s body landing on the ground. We then get Omni-Man truly explaining to Mark why he’s really here, that no one is controlling him and that he’s here to weaken Earth so the Viltrumite Empire can come and conquer it. Nolan tells Mark that he’ll be alive for thousands of years because of his genetics aging him slower, that everyone he loves will die before Mark reaches 30 years old.

2. The Guardians of the Globe are watching the intense battle between Omni-Man and Invincible, they watch as Chicago is pretty much ruined with 1000s injured or dead, Black Sampson tells the Guardians to gear up, they head out to help Chicago.

3. Omni-Man’s rage against Mark is insanely brutal, literally using Mark’s body to kill innocent people. This was purely intense, brutal, and bloody. Omni-Man is one of the best villains of all time.

What I Disliked?

Absolutely nothing to report.

Favorite Moment

Invincible takes the fight to Omni-Man, they both go at it with each punch not holding back from both supers. While in the first Omni-Man takes out two jet fighters, Mark manages to save one until Omni-Man crushes his head and kills him in front of Mark, Mark goes in a rage but gets punched 20 miles into Chicago where Mark is holding a building with one hand and holding a civilian with the other, the building gets destroyed because of Omni-Man and Mark loses the civilian. This entire fight scene was brutal, it was hands down the best fight that I’ve seen.

Standout Character

While Mark’s bravery was excellent, I just can not give the standout to him over Omni-Man, he cemented himself as a true villain in this episode, we’ve seen him do some horrible stuff but this was just on another level.

The Verdict

The episode was just action from start to finish, this was hands down one of the best-animated episodes I’ve ever seen. The episode was just perfect, the action, dialogue, the heartfelt moments between Nolan and Mark was great. the episode ended with a tease of what is to come in the next season.
