What I Liked
1. The opening of this episode showcases the perspective of two bank robbers who are only trying to survive. They fail at robbing a bank and you see them struggle to pay rent, to survive. It’s a unique perspective on the villain side of things.
2. Mark is training Oliver on the basics of being a hero. He’s learning him on how to be able to fly quicker, more agile, and just overall better. Mark takes Oliver to get a suit in which Oliver dons a suit with an “O” on it. Which stands for “Kid Omni-Man” to which Mark explains that their father did bad things on Earth so people may not like it.
3. Mark and Oliver return home to find Mark’s mother with her new boyfriend who tells Mark that he is on TV. Mark tries to deny that it’s him but he’s literally wearing the new suit that was made. The news report calls Mark “Invincaboy”.
4. The Mauler Twins attack a military base and take on the Guardians of the Globe. They manage to take down each member of the Guardians with a weapon that affects their nervous system. Mark sees this on TV and his mother tells him to go help.
What I Disliked
Nothing to report.
Favorite Moment
While Mark is flying after a rocket carrying an EMP, Oliver is fighting the Mauler Twins. After breaking one of their jaws, Oliver gets beaten until he gets up and flies straight through one twin, killing him. Oliver then casually walks up to the other twin and literally punches their head off.
Standout Character
I’m honestly going to give this to Oliver. While this was a learning curve episode for him in terms of being a hero, he does have a hint of Omni-Man in him when we see him kill the Mauler Twins.
Verdict
Three for three in terms of a great episode. This episode was filled with action and suspense. Seeing Mark become a teacher to Oliver and try to teach him that murdering isn’t a good way of being a hero was great as Oliver has a bit of Omni-Man in him.
