I finally got to the cinema to watch Deadpool and Wolverine and what an experience it was.
There have been 34 movies in the MCU since Iron Man in 2008. There’s been some incredibly high highs and some very low lows. The lower lows coming in recent years more so.
In November 2022 we ranked all 30 movies from worst to best which you can read here. At that particular time, we had The Winter Soldier sitting at number 4. So essentially the question here is, is it considered a better movie than that?
I think it is. Don’t get me wrong, The Winter Soldier is a masterpiece but the third Deadpool film is just a whole different experience. It’s a new experience within the MCU and I think that’s why.
Now, I don’t believe it’s better than Infinity War, Endgame, or No Way Home but it’s close. There is a lot to love about Deadpool and Wolverine because it’s unique. It has a lot to offer and it’s arguably the movie that will save the MCU from obscurity.
From the first minute, I sat in awe. My expectations were high for this and they even managed to exceed those. I wasn’t one of those who expected Deadpool to fight Darth Vader or anything but I had my wants from the film and it delivered.
I’d love to sit here and explain all the reasons why I loved Deadpool but I’d be unable to do so without spoiling it. I could write pages and pages on the things I enjoyed but that may come another time once the movies have been out for a while.
If you haven’t seen it, I’d suggest going. If you’re especially one of those who has understandably given up on the MCU, I’d highly recommend going to see this as it may spark everything back up again which has been desperately needed for a while.
