It’s been well over three years since the first season of Hawkeye hit Disney+, and since then, we’ve had very little news surrounding a new season. All we’ve had are rumors, with the latest one being that it’s in development. However, we’ve had nothing from Disney to confirm that.
During the first season, we saw the mantle of Hawkeye be given to Kate Bishop and watched her story unfold. We know Disney does have plans for Kate but that’s it.
Surprisingly, a second season hasn’t already been confirmed considering the first season was very well received. It was an enjoyable ride that deserved another season.
Now, take this with a grain of salt, but some rumors have come out. This is in the form of a character being cast by an A-list actor. The character in question is Barney Barton. He’s the older brother of Clint Barton and is also an antagonist.
According to the rumor itself, their first appearance is set to take place in Hawkeye season 2 with multiple MCU appearances scheduled.
Whether or not DanielRPK is correct in this, it has been heavily rumored in multiple sources that a second season is in development. The only thing that throws me off here is if Disney/Marvel are casting characters, and developing this new season then why haven’t they mentioned it?
We know Disney is rarely shy with their roadmap, often spanning several years and that’s what is putting me off this particular rumor itself. It’s a good one don’t get me wrong, I hope it happens but we’ve been burnt in this “scooper” industry far too many times I do like DanielRPK hence the reason I wrote this article.
Who knows, if all of these rumors hold any weight then maybe it won’t be long before Disney pulls the trigger and announces it. More than anything, I just want to see Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop again as it’s been far too long.
