When we talk about who is the best Jedi in the movies/TV shows, we always discuss the likes of Yoda or Anakin Skywalker but Kenobi is rarely mentioned.
Now let’s discuss some basics here, there aren’t many Jedi alive that have been in a proper fight with a dark side user or anyone using the force for that matter.
Things kicked off in a big way from The Phantom Menace when the Jedi encountered their first Sith in a very long time. Qui-Gon Jin and Obi-Wan Kenobi fight Darth Maul, 2v1 and Maul kills Qui-Gon leaving it down to Kenobi vs Maul, Kenobi being declared the winner and the first Jedi to successfully defeat a Sith in all of that time.
Let’s discuss who else Kenobi has beaten. He beat General Grievous. He also defeated Anakin Skywalker. He even beat Darth Vader in the Kenobi series where at that point, Vader’s probably hunted and killed 100+ Jedi.
So the fact that Kenobi was able to do what a lot of others couldn’t do and that was defeat Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader is a feat in itself, even more so when he beat Vader, he had already become the hermit so wasn’t fully in tune with the force or his lightsaber abilities.
He’s been the one who’s done what everyone else couldn’t do except for Count Dooku. In live-action, Kenobi was often the one to end things. He did in the first movie and the third, as well as his series.
This is just a brief article of course but after watching the show back, I couldn’t help but ask myself the question of whether or not he is the best Jedi on the council. Of course, it’s all based on hearsay but Kenobi has proved himself time and time again in the films. That’s what we’re going off here which is victories.
Do you think Kenobi can be considered the best Jedi in the live-action setting? Let me know down in the comments below.
