The Flash has been on our screens for many years now with the main speedster being played by the incredible actor, Grant Gustin.
Whether or not you like the series, it has been a main series for The CW since Arrow was nearing the end of its run a couple of years back. While some seasons of The Flash have done fairly well, I will admit that there have been some bad seasons along the way.
Grant Gustin has recently agreed on a new contract which might have hinted at the series end.
While we are waiting for the premiere of Season 8, Grant has been negotiating a new contract for a ninth season of the show, however, with some major changes which lead me to believe the end is nigh.
The new contract is for one year only, which is weird because there was a multi-year offer also on the table with Grant choosing the “one-year” contract.
While he could have chosen this option because it had a bigger wage-per-episode, it does seem weird that he would choose this over a multi-year deal.
While this new contract allows Grant to receive $200,000 per episode, the actor has also capped his involvement at 15 episodes for the upcoming ninth season.
The Flash is expected to be renewed for Season 9 by the CW and become the longest-running Arrowverse series on the network, eclipsing anchor Arrow by a season.
The decision for the contract had to be done before Season 8 had wrapped production so that showrunners could give the series a proper “goodbye” if Grant would choose to move on.
Would you be upset if The Flash ends after Season 9? Personally, I would love to see a few more seasons of The Flash as the DC universe is flooded with some unique speedsters, good and bad that we have yet to see in live-action if we ever do.
The Flash returns on March 9, on a new night, moving to Wednesdays.
