Currently, on the internet, there is a lot of hate, negativity, and anger towards James Gunn, Peter Safran, and for some reason, James’s wife, Jennifer Holland.
Quite frankly, it’s appalling, disgusting, and downright dumb because it’s making me truly question the DC fandom. Something I have been questioning all year long.
You might or might not like James, but to completely write off what he is trying to do is idiotic. This man is a comic fan at heart, he wants characters to succeed and shine, he’s proven this with Peacemaker, and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Firstly, I will admit, I was pushing for the Snyder Cut to be released, and I’ll stand by that it deserved to be released don’t get me wrong, it was great, but what a lot of people are completely ignoring is the fact that Snyder got stuff completely wrong, like Barry Allen, I’m sorry but it is not The Flash, he might have the name “Barry Allen” but he’s got the personality of Wally West.
Another huge thing is, Zack Snyder completely changed lore and history. Joker killing a Robin? Guess who? Not Jason Todd, but Dick Greyson, and people completely let this go simply because it’s Snyder.
In all aspects of the movies and shows, I always see Snyder Fans complaining and arguing against what DC is trying to do, and in some cases the completely wrong time, like people mourning deaths, etc. It’s disgusting.
Now they seem to have it in their heads that DC is completely recasting because their “hero” Henry Cavill is not returning as Superman. James has debunked this saying that it’s an untrue statement and that he’s not recasting everyone except the Suicide Squad.
Now, I might get hate for this but it needs to be said… The Snyder fandom was great and useful at one point. They campaigned against an Empire and won but ultimately turned themselves into villains. The downfall of DC movies is 1. Because of bad management which hopefully will turn around with James at the helm and 2. Because of their self-centered entitlement that things Zack Snyder needs to direct and control all areas of DC movies.
