Early in season one of Batwoman, we had an early renewal for season two. The first season continued and impressed me to the point where the show was creeping up on becoming one of the best CW shows.
Ruby Rose decided to leave the role after the season one finale and this announcement of her deciding not to return caused many fans, myself included to come up with theories on how season two could work.
The network decided against the logical choice of doing a time jump in the show and in-between season one and two, Kate Kane could have got badly injured and had to have her face swapped since they used this face-swapping system throughout season one.
The network decided to kill off Kate Kane and bring in a brand new character created purely for the shows benefit. A character named Ryan Wilder (hopefully a placeholder name). She’ll be on a revenge mission and will eventually don the Batwoman suit.
Yesterday news broke of Javicia Leslie being cast as this brand new character for the show. I’m excited to see what Javicia does with this role going into season 2 and hopefully beyond. I pray she does a great job and fans react well to the new episodes.
However with good news always follows bad news, Many fans of the show hate the decision to kill off an iconic character such as Kate and could easily back off from the show which will kill the rating and eventually end up with the show being canceled.
I personally am excited yo see Javicia back on screen after the show I found her on had got canceled. God Friended Me was a show which also had an actor who also played a DC hero, Violett Beane as Jesse Quick on The Flash so I’m sure she’ll give Javicia tips.
