Joker: Folie à Deux Coming To Digital Early

After a very tough and unfortunate time at the box office, Joker 2 will be coming to digital much earlier than expected.

With a horrid box officer performance, Joker is coming to digital platforms as soon as the end of this month (October).

The opening weekend for Joker went through a rough time as it made approximately $40 million domestically, roughly half of what the original Joker movie made. This figure was also majorly short of the original projection of $70 million.

The film’s budget was $190 million and as Variety reported, even two whole weekends in the theaters, the global intake for the box office was $165 million. The first Joker movie made a staggering $248 million after just three days.

The report claims that the film will be hitting home entertainment platforms on October, 29, less than four weeks after the theater release. The film became the first Hollywood comic book movie adaptation to earn a “D” score from CinemaScore, even films such as The Marvels and The Flash managed to secure a “B” rating.

Now, in my personal opinion. The film was not needed at all. The first Joker film was amazing. It did not need a sequel. The film should have served as what it was. A down-and-out guy, getting bullied by society snaps and becomes this crazy figure in the city. The ending with him standing in the police car while chaos spreads around him was a perfect ending. If they wanted to continue this universe, they should have focused on a new villain, a Mr Freeze, Clayface, or someone along those lines.

Domestically the film made $53,849.803, while internationally it made $113.400.000, totaling a measly $167.249.809 at the box office.
