DC has had a roller-coaster of a ride since Man of Steel dropped in 2013. We have had some downs; Batman vs Superman, Suicide Squad, and more importantly, Justice League.
Since Justice League’s terrible release, DC has had nothing but ups since that point. Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Shazam! were all well received.
Even the upcoming movies from DC have me slightly more excited than Marvel’s Phase Four.
The Flash has finally been given the green light. Wonder Woman 84. Shazam! 2, Birds of Prey, Joker, even Matt Reeve’s The Batman has got me overly hyped.
So the question I ask, is it the right time for WB and DC to start thinking about their next big major team up?
I think so.
Marvel has huge shoes to fill going forward without their two biggest heroes, I feel like DC has the perfect opportunity to capitalize on this.
DC has a bad reputation, especially at the moment for delivering less than desirable movies. Justice League was two years ago and every movie DC has dropped within that time has been incredible.
Birds of Prey is the next “team up” movie. I hope they do this right. They’re introducing both Black Canary, and Huntress straight in without a backstory. Thankfully for me, I got a lot through the Arrow show. Those who don’t understand them, I hope they get the right service in the movie. That’s where Justice League fell flat more than anything for me.
Considering the success DC has had the last couple of movies, and the early critics for the Joker. I believe they will do the movie justice.
It would be nice for DC and WB to sit down, and think of a thorough plan going forward, similar to the way Marvel announces everything at SDCC and goes through with the plan.
DC announced a bunch back in 2016 but a lot of it was either cancelled, delayed, or changed.
More importantly, what do you think? Do you think it’s time for DC to give the green light for Justice League 2 to commence?
