Knights of the Old Republic Remake Developer Issues Update in Regards to the Game

It feels like it’s been a lifetime since this game was announced. The KOTOR remake was officially announced with a teaser trailer at the PlayStation 2021 Showcase event.

Since then though, it’s been nothing but bad news. Aspyr, who were the original developers, went through a very bad spell with the game before it was passed to Saber Interactive who’ve had the project ever since.

Since there was effectively radio silence from then on, fans (including myself) presumed the game to be canceled. However, Matthew Karch did explain to IGN last year that the game was alive and well, but again, there has been nothing since – until today.

Tim Willits is the CCO of Saber Interactive and we’re of course, again, presuming this update does include the KOTOR remake.

When it comes to the video gaming world with Star Wars, the KOTOR games are generally considered up there as some of the best so it’s natural fans would be excited for this particular project. The lack of updates since hasn’t helped matters, but I am thankful that we are getting brief updates from executives, even just letting us know the game’s still happening.

So there you have it, folks. It appears KOTOR is still in the pipeline. It’s still a game I’m unbelievably excited about.
