Legends of Tomorrow “Ground Control to Sara Lance” Review

Season 6 Episode 1 “The Legends go looking for Sara, who has been abducted by aliens.”

What I Liked?

1. I do like how Ava instantly mentioned the DEO and Alex Danvers when talking about aliens and them being the DEO and her issues and how they always deal with those. I keep forgetting that everything is on one Earth now!

2. Sara escapes from the pod that she’s trapped in, she opens another pod, and outcomes Spartacus. He then acts all overly confident and goes in to attack the boss alien but ends up being eaten by the alien. This was a quick fun scene.

What I Disliked?

1. The episode opens up where the finale of last season left off, the Legends are happy they’ve won, they are walking away from the club and just leave Sara to get kidnapped by aliens, bearing in mind that she’s being trapped by a big blue light? Bad writing and storytelling.

2. Ava becomes “captain” but ultimately ends up just letting everyone do their own thing which in turn, gets 2 more Legends kidnapped by someone else? How was she even a high-ranking person in the Time Bureau? This is just bad writing as well.

3. Gary has been in the show for somewhat 3 seasons now and we only come to learn that he’s an alien? Keep in mind he’s also had some skin bit off by a unicorn even though his glasses give him a human hologram? I just don’t know what else to say about this.

Favorite Moment

There weren’t many scenes that caught my attention but this fight scene between Sara and the big boss alien caught my attention for a minute or two. It wasn’t the best fight scene I’ve seen in the series but it was the best of this episode.

Standout Character

If I had to choose, I’d give it to Sara. She’s basically the only one who done anything this episode.

The Verdict

For a season 6 premiere, this was weak, it was lackluster, nothing truly made sense, and it was just boring, for the most part, I wish the show went back to season 1 standards.
