Earlier this month I stumbled across a handful of tweets stating that the Marvel shows that Netflix had on their streaming service Daredevil, The Punisher, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and The Defenders had an expiration date when you click to view one of the series.
I decided to check it out for myself so I went and loaded up Netflix to see if I could see the date. To my surprise, I initially didn’t see a date as I loaded the Netflix website up on my PC, so I decided to double-check and loaded it up on Xbox and I saw the “Last date to view the series February 28.”
Then came the articles about the full rights officially returning to Marvel and Disney as well as mentioning that the shows that were on Netflix originally would be rehomed on another streaming service at another date, well it looks like the streaming service has been confirmed.
Twitter exploded with the fact that the shows will be hitting Disney+ in some locations this coming March. according to yo MobileSyrup, however, fans in other parts like the United States will have to wait to see more.
While this isn’t a confirmation that other characters from inside the Netflix shows will debut in the larger expanded Marvel Cinematic Universe as only so far two elements of the Netflix shows have made their debut in the MCU with that being Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin.
Would you be fine if the shows made their way over to Disney+? For me, I personally think this would be the only true choice for it as the rights have officially gone back to Disney. I think it’s also a great choice because of the previously mentioned two debuts in recent Marvel Cinematic properties.
