Static Shock has and always will be a very unique character, his powers are great, and his personality matches. Over the years we’ve had toys and cartoons surrounding the character.
Now DC is headed in a new direction with their movie universe, giving us standalone movies so it makes sense to bring these “background” characters and give them life in live-action form.
Michael B. Jordan revealed that he has signed on to produce the film and is ready to bring this character to life and give him a spotlight in live-action. This will potentially work well because it’s something many people have asked for, including myself.
Michael B. Jordan was quoted “I’m proud to be a part of building a new universe centered around Black superheroes; our community deserves that,”.
I’m super excited for Static Shock to receive his own movie, I’ve been such a huge fan of the character ever since I saw the cartoon back in the day. I’m excited to see what Michael B. Jordan does with this movie, excited to see who he brings on to direct and who gets cast as the star.
I’m also glad that Static Shock is finally getting the right treatment with this movie and his new comic series coming out in early 2021, The character deserves it and many fans also deserve to see this character shine.
