After almost 30 years, Michael Keaton is in talks with Warner Bros to return as Bruce Wayne in the upcoming Flashpoint movie, starring Ezra Miller as The Flash. Also including Ray Fisher’s return as Cyborg.
Also rumored to be involved in the movie is Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the Thomas Wayne Batman.
We do know in regards to Keaton that the talks are in the very early stages, so it is not a sure thing as of yet, but they do look promising.
Keaton last played Batman in the 1992 Batman Returns movie, so this was a surprise to see that he’s in talks to play the Caped Crusader once more, especially with the rumor of him playing the Vulture within the Sinister 6 over at Marvel.
Flashpoint will feature a lot that will appear differently to what we are used to, and there’s a magnitude of different ways they can go with this movie.
Michael Keaton may be playing a mentor-type role within the DCEU and outside of The Flash movie with Batgirl being one of the choices being considered.
While this news is good for some fans, I truly think it would have been a better move to have Robert Pattinson’s Batman be introduced as a younger Bruce Wayne after the events of Flashpoint. I’m disappointed they’ve gone this route.
It’ll be interesting to see how they’ll mention Ben Afflecks Batman going forward if they do mention him at all.
