This week we saw that Rosario Dawson was reportedly cast in “The Mandalorian” season 2. Dawson was said to be cast as the fan favourite Ahsoka Tano.
While Rosario Dawson has been in many peoples fan casts for the character for a few years now. This news on the casting has received a mixed response.
Fans have come out and said that they would love to see Ashley Eckstein portray the first-ever live-action Ahsoka Tano since she’s voiced the character in The Clone Wars and Rebels.
Honestly, I am happy with Rosario Dawson being cast as Ahsoka Tano as she fits the part well. I can’t wait to see how The Mandalorian handles the live-action look of Ahsoka Tano and Will Ahsoka mention Anakin, Vader or The events of The Clone Wars or Rebels.
Just because an actor voices a character in an animated project doesn’t mean they should be cast as the live-action counterpart. Take Sam Witwer for example… voices Maul and Palpatine incredibly well but doesn’t have the look or build to portray the characters in live-action form.
The Mandalorian is scheduled to return in October 2020.
